To support organizations in the effective and efficient administration of priority entitlements, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has launched the Priority Information Management System (PIMS) Support Centre (available only to Publiservice clients).

The PIMS Support Centre is a Web-based training tool that brings together all the resources related to PIMS, providing organizations with an intuitive, flexible, user-friendly training site. Developed in consultation with the Priority Administration Community of Practice, the PIMS Support Centre will contribute to improved understanding of PIMS functions and user consistency across and within organizations.

Building on the success of the recently-launched Training Portal (available only to Publiservice clients) for the users of the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS) (see PSC Letter to Heads of Human Resources 13-01), the PIMS Support Centre offers users an inclusive training approach designed to accommodate all learning styles, with information targeted to their needs and available when they need it. This training approach includes:

  • Training videos that highlight key features of PIMS; and
  • Printable step-by-step Web instruction manuals.

PIMS Support Centre training modules include:

  • Accessing and using PIMS (for first-time users);
  • Obtaining a priority clearance and/or PSC recruitment services using PIMS;
  • Registering a priority person or referring to a priority person's file or résumé; and
  • Generating reports about priority administration.

With the launch of the Support Centre, the PIMS User Manual as well as the “Organizations” section of the Priority Portal User Manual have been decommissioned, as all of this information is now available in the PIMS Support Centre.

For technical questions on the use of PIMS, please contact your organization's PIMS Super User.

If you have any general questions regarding the PIMS Support Centre, please contact Maria Tsourounakis at Maria.Tsourounakis@cfp-psc.gc.ca or by telephone at 613-944-6440.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the feedback provided by organizations during consultations on this initiative.

Yours sincerely,
