2012-12-04

As of November 6, 2012, persons who are employed at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) may now be deployed to organizations subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA).

The approval was granted after the Public Service Commission (PSC) conducted an initial review of the staffing program of CNSC. The PSC will conduct an annual review, as well as an in-depth review every five years, of the CNSC’s staffing program as a condition of this approval.

The new eligibility of persons who are employed at the CNSC for deployment to organizations subject to the PSEA is in addition to their existing eligibility to participate in internal advertised appointment processes open to ‘‘employees” of the public service.

For more information regarding organizations’ statutory links with the PSC and the PSEA, please refer to the PSC’s reference list.

For additional information, please contact Don Ruggles, Manager, Delegation and Reporting, Delegation and Accountability Directorate, Policy Branch, PSC at 613-992-2760.
